What is the Altar Society?
The Altar Society of All Saints Parish would like to invite all ladies of our parish – age 18 years and older – to join us! Altar Society is a great way to develop Catholic Christian friendships with other ladies of our parish! We would like to invite you to join us for prayer, friendship, and service working together to provide for some of the needs of our parish community.
Meetings: Our meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of the month in Fischer Center-North at 7:00 p.m. for the months of September through May.
Some of the items we support are the Altar bread and wine, candles, we make baptismal garments, cleaning supplies for the church, provide funeral dinners, host the RCIA and Confirmation receptions, provide dinner for the visiting priests for our Penance Services, organize the memorial flowers for Christmas and Easter, and serve desserts at our annual parish dinner. We also do several service projects for our community.
Each year we provide a retreat for our ladies so they have some spiritual reflection time together.
Our annual Cookie Walk and Raffle, held in December, is the only fund raiser we have each year. We include everyone in our parish in this fundraiser and give some of the proceeds back to our parish.
Our monthly meetings consist of a short business meeting and a program to share with everyone. Our programs vary widely from having fun getting to know one another, educational, informational and learning something new. Our end of year meeting in May is a dinner.
Whether you can come to one meeting or several meetings, we encourage you to join us. Come and enjoy the fellowship of the ladies of our parish! You will be glad you did!
