My Dear Parishioners,
January 2023 is passing by, and we all are adding days and years to our lives on earth (only those who have made it to heaven will never get old). Hopefully we are all growing in a deeper relationship with God and with greater love for one another. Personally, I have seen people growing older and wealthier but further away from God and their loved ones. I often think of them and pray for them at Mass. I know that none of us can turn them around toward God and their loved ones, but only themselves after they have realized that they have been “the prodigal son.” Therefore, they truly need our love and prayers so that with God’s grace given and waiting, they may return to Holy Mass whole-heartedly, to their families and even taking better care of their body, mind, and soul. At the same time, please pray for the members of our parish and for me, because as sinners, we are dependent on God’s mercy and forgiveness and His divine grace to hold on to our Catholic faith and to live it daily with one another. Please know that I love you all and you are dear to me. Thank you to all those who came to the Vietnamese New Year celebration last weekend. We had a great turn out and the time we spent at the reception was very nice too. With Jesus’ love, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Today, Sunday January 22 is the Vietnamese Lunar new year, the year of the cat. Everyone is invited to our New Year Mass, in Vietnamese at 10:30am, followed by a dragon dance, handing out lucky money to everyone in a red envelope, a reception with games and karaoke in the parish hall. Please know that the expenses for this event and all the Vietnamese related events at All Saints are sponsored by generous donors and from the Vietnamese 10:30am Mass stipends donation. On a personal note, thank you to all those who always support me with your love, prayer and remembering me during the Christmas season. Last Sunday, I was able to open and read my Christmas cards from many of you since the beginning of December. Thank you! Yes, we have been having a lot of things/maintenance going on in our school, church, and rectory as well. However, thank you a million for all that you have done for me and given me, especially your love and momentary gifts. I truly appreciated all that you have done for me. I am here to love and to do what I can for our church and school, and above all, for the salvation of all souls. Love you all, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,

2023 is here with God’s love and promise of eternal life to all those who have kept their baptismal promises. That is to reject sin and to live for God alone by loving Him and serving Him. I pray that every day, my parishioners will see God in one another and always pray for each other as well as help each other make it to eternal life, to love God today and to serve Him with our lives of time, talent, and treasure. As Catholics, we are the light of the world, we are to shine before others with our faith in God and our good deeds for each other. When we do so, we will help the world to know God, to also love God and to serve Him. Love you all, Fr. Hien Happy New Year Everyone,
God is with us in Jesus our Lord! Merry Christmas everyone! May this new year, 2023, bring you God’s peace and love to you and your loved ones, so that you will share God’s love within you to each other and to help one another to eternal life. Jesus came from heaven to reveal heaven, our true home to us. In heaven, we will be one perfect family of God. Please make a commitment to live your Catholic faith daily with your devotions and prayers, especially on Sunday, the Lord’s Day of Obligation. As Catholics, not living out our faith and worshiping God is not an option for those who want to please God and for the sake of his/her and their loved ones’ salvation. I am blessed to be a Catholic and live my Catholic faith everyday here at All Saints with you. I hope that more of you and your loved ones will join me in prayer and worship to God in this coming year. Of all things in life, what is most important is our love for God and our love for each other. Only when we are one with God, especially through the Eucharist, the Holy Mass, is when we are fully loving God and each other and ourselves. I am very blessed to witness so many faithful Catholics attending Sunday Masses and receiving the sacrament regularly. You are awesome and you are the joy of my life through your Catholic faith, Fr. Hien. |
