My Dear Parishioners,
Blessings from our Lord be with you. I would like to invite everyone to view our new adoration chapel after this weekend’s Masses. The chapel is located near the restroom area. This chapel will be blessed at the 5:30pm Mass on Tuesday, March 5th, followed by adoration hours. This chapel has its own outside door with an entry code to enter the chapel. The code will be given to adorers on the weekend of March 2nd. By the entry door is a new parking lot for adorers. At night, the outside light will light up the parking lot area and a special motion sensor light will turn on when someone is near, or a vehicle is pulling up. This chapel is like a mini-church because of the many religious images, Stations of the Cross, and the holy relics of many saints. This chapel is a place of worship to our Lord (at Tuesday & Thursday 5:30pm Mass), a place of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament (adoration), and prayers to the Holy Family, the angels and saints. I hope everyone will enjoy our beautiful chapel and be true Catholics, Fr. Hien Extra-Ordinary Eucharistic Minister and Lector Training: I would like to invite our current lectors and Eucharistic ministers and any adult who is a practicing Catholic who has been confirmed, including high school and collage-aged parishioners, to attend my training on Saturday, March 9th at 10 am in our church. Please know that these ministries are so important and special that everyone must be trained. Eucharistic Ministers, once you’re trained, your names will be sent to our bishop for approval and you will be certified for the next five years. Lectors, you will have the honor of proclaiming the word of God at Holy Mass. I am looking forward to training you and helping you to love and to serve our Lord in His Holy Church. I promise you that I will get everyone trained within one hour, unless you have too many questions. For more details, please contact Sandy or Fr. My Dear Parishioners,
Happy Valentine’s Day! I pray that you are doing well—physically, mentally, spiritually and especially in your relationship with one another. May the love of God always shine on you. I am writing today to invite everyone to be more involved in our church and school so that we may be good stewards before God with our time, talent and treasure. Please don’t be afraid to commit your time and energy to serving our Lord for we are to know Him, to love Him and to serve Him. Let us put our faith into practice so that we, and others too, may be saved. My Dear Parishioners,
Today, Tuesday, February 5th is the Lunar New Year “Chinese New Year.” Today many countries in southeast Asia such as China, Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore, etc.…are celebrating the Lunar New Year. Here in our parish, we have many Vietnamese like me who are celebrating the New Year, too. The best part of the Lunar New Year is receiving the lucky money - “red envelope with money inside” - from one another and the new year celebration that lasts about two weeks. This year, 2019, is the Year of the Pig according to the Chinese zodiac. Happy New Year to those who are celebrating! Sympathies & Prayers: First, to the family of Pedro Rodriguez. Pedro passed away Sunday, January 20. He was a Vietnam veteran and retired from the Air Force. We celebrated his funeral Mass on Friday, January 25 in our church. Second, our love and prayers to the family of Judson Spicer. Judson was 97 years old and passed away Friday, January 18. He also served our country in the Navy for years. We celebrated his funeral Mass last Friday, February 1st in our church. Lastly, to the family of LeRoy Clerico. LeRoy was born on November 7, 1914, and passed away at the age of 104. I also celebrated his life with his family and friends on Monday, February 4th, and put him to eternal rest. May God bless Pedro, Judson, LeRoy and all our beloved ones with eternal life with God and all the angels and saints. Please be safe and don’t die on me for I had three funerals and attended one in three weeks—Fr. Hien Coming Up: Please make plans to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Thursday, February 14th. May your love for your spouse and for each other be true, strong and never endling. Thank You: On behalf of our All Saints students and our high school students who are attending our Catholic high schools - THANKS everyone for your love for them and for supporting them with your stewardship to our parish. Yes, your stewardship, especially your treasure, has helped provide Catholic education and formation to our children and youth. They will be forever grateful to you all. Here is an example from one of our students: “Dear Father Hien and fellow Parishioners, thank you for supporting me on my journey at Kapaun. I wish there was a better way for me to thank you. Thank you so much for allowing me the experience of going to a Catholic school. I appreciate you all and Father Hien. Again, thank you for it all….” To let you know what your stewardship means to our children, I invite you to read their personal appreciation messages that were sent to me on a big poster. It’ll be available in the gathering area of our church for everyone to view. Finally, thank you to our All Saints children and teachers for all the fun you shared with me during your Catholic school week. I played volleyball with you and enjoyed you all immensely. You are amazing and fun to be around. Love you all, Fr. Hien |
