My Dear Parishioners of All Saints,
Are you ready for Christmas? I have been preparing for Christmas since Thanksgiving. I can’t wait to be with you and your loved ones this Christmas. It’s because I love you, and sadly, I have not seen many of you for a long time due to the pandemic. Please bring your families to worship our Lord and to be blessed by Him. We have plenty of room and extra seats for everyone. As you will see, the inside and outside of our church are decorated with beautiful Christmas displays. 2020 has been a sad year for all of us worldwide; however, we know that God can turn our sadness and sorrows into joy if today we would trust in God, love Jesus, and worship Him as our God at Holy Mass. I trust that God will enlighten your hearts, minds, and souls this Christmas. Please come to our Holy Masses to receive Jesus and to be one with God. Jesus is our source of love, peace, joy, and heavenly happiness. Our Christmas Eve Masses are Thursday, December 24th at 4:00pm & 5:30pm. Christmas Day, Friday, December 25th at 9:00am & 10:45am (Viet). Merry Christmas with countless blessings from our God to you all. May you feel the love of God as the Holy Angels and Saints are feeling now and forever before God. Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people on earth. I love you all & Merry Christmas, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Blessings from Our Lord and His Blessed Mother be with you all. Thank you everyone for attending Holy Mass on the Solemnity of our Mother Mary. As you may know, Bishop Kemme has established the “Year of St. Joseph” from Dec 8, 2020 to Dec 7, 2021 for our diocese. Let us give our devotion to St. Joseph for he has been known as a great guardian and protector of the Church and of every family who imitates the Holy Family. Once again, let us congratulate our third graders of All Saints Catholic School for they received their First Confession and Holy Communion last weekend. We are all happy for you children. God bless you and remember Jesus always loves you. Next, we are preparing our second graders for their First Confession and Holy Communion in May 2021. Please keep our second graders in your prayers. Second Graders with Miss Ouano: Michael ulson, Jase Cash, David Dang, Alex Do, Thaddeus Fisher, Daniel Gonzalez, Elianna Guzman, Emma Hay, Aurielle Kodjovi, Aiden Le, Dat Le, Anthony LeDonne, Andy Nguyen Mai, Rebecca Nkouga, Xavier Oduor, Naomi Rocha, Noemi Rocha, Yajaira Rocha, Eloise Rumback, Romeo Sanchez and Adan Trejo Munoz. This week, I am busy helping our All Saints children, 4th-8th grades, with their confessions before Christmas. They are precious gifts from God to our church family, because of their faith in God and the Holy Sacraments. Also, this Sunday, December 20th at 3pm, everyone is invited to attend our Advent Penance Service in Church. Please stay 6 feet behind the person in front of you. Guest priests are Fr. Garett Burns, Fr. Matthew Siegman, and Fr. Michael Brungardt. You are to say your own Act of Contrition in church prior to entering for your confession. You will be standing in front of a black cloth to confess. The name of the confessor will be posted. PLEASE DO NOT TALK/VISIT/EAT OR DRINK IN CHURCH. Thank you! As a church family, let us extend our sympathy to the family of Eugenia “Jean” Ignowski, who passed to eternal life on November 27. Her funeral Mass was on Thursday, December 3rd in our church. May Jean and all our beloved deceased families, friends and parishioners be with our risen Lord, all the angels and saints in heaven. We love them all and we will continue praying and keeping them close to our hearts every day. Finally, our Christmas Eve Masses are Thursday, December 24th at 4:00pm (red pews) & 5:30pm (yellow pews). Christmas Day, Friday, December 25th at 9:00am & 10:45am (Vietnamese). Love you all, Fr. Hien Stewardship Message from Fr. Hien
My Dear Parishioners of All Saints, Blessings from our Lord through the love and intercessions of All Saints be with you all. As always, I am happy to be with you at Holy Mass to pray and to worship our God as a church family. Please know that you are the reason why I am here. I love you all and I ask God’s blessings upon you and your loved ones, living and deceased. I pray that you will be healthy, safe, joyful, and full of love for God and for one another. I live to love God and all the people God has entrusted to my care - Catholics, and non-Catholics alike. I am blessed to be here at All Saints and to be loved by you all. Thank you! I want to thank everyone for your true love for our Lord with your stewardship in our church and school. I admire many of you for your faithfulness during this pandemic time with your attendance in church and with your financial support to our church’s family. You are amazing and fearless during this pandemic time. Please trust that your reward will be great in heaven. Together, let us take good care of our church and facilities while continuing to provide Catholic education to our children through high school. Please know that up to 80 percent of your financial contribution pays for the Catholic education of our children, and 10 percent is a stewardship tithe to the diocese with an additional up to 7 percent to support two Catholic high schools in Wichita. As your pastor, I ask that everyone please support our church family with your tithe/treasure to provide Catholic education to our many children. Our children are the future of our families, church, community, and the whole world. Let us give the highest level of education and formation to them. To this day, whether a parent has been faithful to his/her pledge or not, I have not rejected one child from Catholic education. For Jesus said, "Let the children come to me and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these." Personally, I love to celebrate Holy Mass with them, and I want to make sure that what happened to me will not happen to them. I didn’t get to go to school from 4th grade to 8th grade as a child. Parents, please know that Catholic education is a special privilege for your children. They need your financial support to our parish. The parish pays $3,700 per student per year in high school, and about a million dollars for our pre-K to 8th grades. This would include salaries, health care and buildings insurances, utility bills, etc.… besides the many sacrifices our teachers, staff and volunteers make every day for the love of God and our children. In return, God blesses us with many great joys. Every year, we have non-baptized students who wanted to be baptized Catholics. Our Catholic students also love to attend Holy Mass and to receive other sacraments such as Confessions, first Holy Communion for 3rd and 2nd graders, and Confirmation for 7th and 8th graders coming up. Therefore, please know that your faithful stewardship is bearing fruit in our children. Catholic education is forming them to be true Catholics and good Americans. Our world needs more of them and less beggars, criminals, drug addicts, anti-God, and anti-human life people. As a church family, let us appreciate our teachers and staff for their excellent work and the many sacrifices they have made for the good of our church and children. If you are willing, I am hoping to give them a little raise for the upcoming school year to help them and their families during this pandemic time. We did not give them a raise this school year, per Bishop Kemme’s suggestion. I know it will be very difficult for the parish to do this, but if you are willing with your gifts of treasures, God is here to help us all. Please fill out the treasure form (tithe from your whole family income). This is required for every family, including families with children attending All Saints grade school and Catholic High Schools (Deadline is December 31st, also the deadline for your 2020 contributions to be counted for this year. In January, we’ll mail your 2020 contributions statement for your tax purposes). Please help the parish cut costs by using Direct Deposit. It is free to you and is very little cost to the parish. Complete the Orange Paper with a voided check for processing. Drop it in the collection baskets, mail or bring it to the office. If you are using Direct Deposit and still getting collection envelopes, please contact the office so that we can stop wasting money. Thank you! PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE UPCOMING CELEBRATIONS: All Saints’ PSR and Third Graders’ First Holy Communion is this weekend. Advent Parish Penance Service: Sunday, December 20th at 3pm. Guest priests are Fr. Garett Burns, Fr. Matthew Siegman, and Fr. Michael Brungardt. Christmas Eve Masses: Thursday, December 24th at 4:00pm & 5:30pm.
