My Dear Parishioners,
Are you ready for the new liturgical year? Yes, this weekend, we are entering the First Sunday of Advent, the beginning of Cycle B readings. During Advent, there will be no Gloria at Mass. There will be Advent candles on a wreath to symbolize hope, love, joy, and peace. Let us start preparing our hearts, mind, and souls to celebrate the birthday of Jesus on December 25th. Jesus is our Lord, God, and Savior. He loves us unconditionally. He longs to be loved by us all in every breath we take. Blessings from our Lord be with you all. Please join me in praying for the repose of the soul of Paul Miller, who was 94 years old when he died. As a long-time parishioner, Paul loved our church and school, and he had the greatest desire for the best education for our children of All Saints. God bless him and please join me in expressing our sympathy to his long-time wife Lucy, their children and many of their loved ones and friends. I am blessed to celebrate his funeral Mass in our church. We are in the middle of November. Please remember to pray daily, especially for your deceased loved ones and all souls. At All Saints, we have been praying for all souls at every Mass. We are praying for the poor souls and all souls so that they will be saints. It’s a win-win situation for them and for us, for when they are in heaven, they will help us to be in heaven with them too. Thank you to the many people who wrote down the names of their deceased loved ones in our Book of Remembrance and on the All Souls Envelopes to be prayed for every day. Thank you for your good deeds. As you know, we are getting to the end of 2020. How is your relationship with God and how are you doing with your stewardship way of life for our parish? Please know that everything in this life will pass by, except your love and faith in God and your good deeds for others. Every day let your faith lead you and let your love for God be known before God and others. I trust that you will be just and generous to God in our parish with your time, talent, treasure. I trust that you will do your best/fair share so that I can continue to provide Catholic education to your/our children in from pre-Kindergarten to high school. Please know that our children are dependent on your faithfulness to our church and school. Today, I am encouraging everyone to pray for our children of All Saints, especially the following two confirmation classes as they are preparing themselves to be confirmed in six months. Grade 7th with Mrs. Jean Gengler: Jayda Delarue, Alexander Dickerson, Ky Dinh, Thanh Do, Daniella Estrada, Milagros Galarza, Elaine Hesse, Andrew Kucera, Fatima Moreno, Isaac Mosqueda, Mia Murguia, Catherine Nguyen, Lac Nguyen, Matthew Nguyen, Thinh Nguyen, Thao Pham, Tjaden Pham, Avery Rangel, Anne Rayappa, Benjamin Salcedo, Lucy Schneider, and Leann Tran. Grade 8th Miss. Nikki Erker: Gabrielle Bates, Faith Brown, Nautica Cash, Victoria Cruz, Thien-Y Do, Jaydin Embry, Blair Fisher, Jonathan Goheen, Ethan Hay, Johnny Hengel, Adriel Hernandez, Thomas Kalima-Preciado, Abigail Le, Lily Logan, Olivia Meier, Christine Nguyen, Faustine Nguyen, Kevin Nguyen, Mya Owens, Alex Pham, Skyler Pham, Daniel Rocha, Christopher Sanchez, Alexandria Stewart, and Lia Tran. Jesus, we love you. Please keep us safe and close to you, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
God made all of us out of love, and only when we live to love, will we be blessed with eternal life from our heavenly Father, God. Eternal life will be given to all those who live to love God with all their hearts, minds, and souls and to love others as themselves. May we always love one another, especially the disabled, the handicapped, the foreigners, the poor, and especially the unborn and the faithful departed. At All Saints, throughout this month of November, at every Holy Mass, we will pray especially for all souls, especially those of our church’s family and our families. The Book of Remembrance is in the foyer/gathering area for everyone to write down the names of their deceased loved ones to be prayed for at all our Holy Masses. We will also have All Souls Day envelopes available in the pews and in the foyer area for your use. Any amount of money you donate in this All Souls Day Envelope will go to our “Building Fund,” to help pay for the buildings’ maintenance bills such as the new LED bulbs we recently placed in our school building, the gym, the Fischer Center and the foyer/gathering area of our church. A special thank you to Devorss Flanagan-Hunt mortuary for $386.57 (funeral of Raymond Ortiz) towards the cost of the LED bulbs, that cost about $9,300. Thank you also to our All Saints Altar Society for the purchase of the two new vacuum cleaners to be used to clean our church. Thank you, ladies, and to all those who help maintain and clean our church every week. God bless your love and sacrifices. Thank you everyone for following my instructions at Holy Communion to give extra space to each other so that we may keep each other safe from Covid19. Thank you for your cooperation and patience at communion time. Again, please be patient and always avoid congestion. I have noticed that everyone does an excellent job receiving Holy Communion with their hands and not with their mouth. Thank you! Finally, please remind yourself to either turn off your phone or mute it before entering church so that your phone will not disturb everyone at Holy Mass and to avoid people looking at you when your phone goes off during Mass. Thank you for doing this for the love of God and one another. Also, as you enter the church, please be sure to pick up your bulletin to be used during Mass such as the readings and to take home it home with you. Please read our bulletins to keep yourself updated with our parish’s and school’s updates. Our teachers and I write to you every week. We love to share with you about our children at school and things that are happening in our parish. We are a church family; we must pray together and live in unity, peace, and love with each other. For All Souls: “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.” Fr. Hien, Pastor My Dear Parishioners,
Blessings from our Lord be with you all. HAPPY FEAST DAY to our church’s family this Sunday, November 1st. We will celebrate our All Saints’ feast day this weekend at our Holy Masses. We will give thanks to God for all the Holy Men and Women in heaven who are constantly loving and praying for us, especially everyone in our All Saints church’s family. We give thanks to God also for each other, especially those who have been in our parish for a long time, and particularly those who have passed to eternal life. Please know that all that we have today at All Saints church and school comes from our longtime, dedicated, and faithful living and deceased parishioners. Let us never forget the love and sacrifices they have made for us all. We are blessed today because of them all. May God bless them and reward them on earth as it will be in heaven. Please join me, every day in this month of November at every Holy Mass, including daily Masses too, to remember all souls, especially those of our church’s family and our families. A special thank you to our All Saints’ Knights of Columbus Council #9767 for their generous donation of $700 towards the cost of the LED bulbs, that cost about $9,300 overall. Thank you, brother Knights! 2020 Election: The election is near, let us pray for a fruitful and peaceful election. Let us vote for the candidates who would serve God and the American people--both the born and the yet to be born Americans. Every person should have the right to life on earth before his/her life eternal in heaven. Finally, please remember to turn back your clock this Saturday night, October 31st so that you will be on time for Holy Mass on Sunday. Love you all, Fr. Hien |
