My Dear Parishioners,
None of us have been to heaven; there has been only one person, Jesus, who came from heaven to love us and to save us. Jesus, who loves us eternally and who would love for all of us to continue living forever in heaven with Him. How blessed are we to be loved by God, who created us and who has been giving us love all the time. Today, the church celebrated the Ascension of the Lord to heaven to remind us that He went to heaven to prepare a place for us. He prayed that those who loved Him and those who loved God would be with Him for eternal life. God is love and if a person lives to love another as him/herself, they will be blessed with eternal life. Jesus’ disciples were joyful seeing Jesus taken to heaven, may we look forward to our eternal life in heaven. Please join me in thanking God for all the ordained priests of our diocese, especially Fr. Dwight Birket who will have been a priest 50 years on May 27th. Father was once a pastor of our parish. On the same day, I will be ordained 22 years. I have made arrangements with Father so that he can be in our parish on Sunday, August 7th to celebrate our 9am Mass, followed by a cake reception so that everyone can personally meet him and congratulate him. Thanks be to God for all the vocations in our diocese, especially the many young men will be ordained deacons and priests this weekend. Happy Memorial Weekend to everyone. This Monday, all Catholic cemeteries will have a special Mass for the deceased. This Monday there will be 10am Mass at Calvary, unless it rains, then it will be held in our church. God bless us all and I love you too, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Please join me in thanking God and congratulating all our All Saints Catholic school students. They are finishing up their school year this week. It was truly a special academic year for our students who have grown so much in all areas, academic to spiritual, especially our graduating eighth grade students. They are Jayda Delarue, Ky Dinh, Thanh Do, Daniella Estrada, Milagros (Mili)-Meeli Galarza, Elaine Hesse, Connor Ho, Andrew (Hammie) Kucera, Fatima Moreno-Avila, Isaac Mosqueda, Mia Murguia, Brandon Nguyen, Catherine Nguyen, Lac Nguyen, Mathew Nguyen, Thinh Nguyen, Vu Ky Tai Nguyen, Thao (Mimi) Pham, Tjaden Pham, Avery Rangel, Anne Christy Rayappa, Benjamin Salcedo, Lucy Schneider, and Leann Tran. These children have been attending All Saints all or most their life. They have grown a great deal. They are smart and intelligent. They have great love for their Catholic faith. They have been role models for their siblings and other students. They have been leaders to our little children, especially helping the little ones to be reverent in church. I am thankful to God for each one of them. They have made me proud of them. I hope that as they grow older, especially at MKC, they will be the best students they can be. They will be good Catholics like they have been at All Saints. Of course, I hope that they will continue communicating with their parents, especially with Jesus from their hearts. I pray that some of them might consider religious vocations. We need more religious life from our parish. These children will graduate from All Saints at their special 8am Mass on Tuesday, May 24th. Please join us and them. Thank you to their parents for helping them and forming them in the ways of faith. As a church family, we are blessed to have each other, the old and the young, the born and the unborn. God bless us all and I love you too, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Congratulations to our First Communicant children. They are Michael Abarca, Nicole Bramhall, Sofia Gonzalez-Ramirez, Mylia Huynh, Sophia Trinh, Apple Nguyen, Ryan Nguyen, Carsen Pham, Laura Nguyen, Cindy Quiroz-Rocha, Elena Webb and Josue Kabagaya. These children had their First Confession last Saturday, May 7th and received their first Holy Communion later that day at our 4pm Mass. It was truly a special day for them, their families, teachers, and for me too. I love our children because they are special to me. I loved them when they were reverently receiving Jesus. I always learn a lot from children from their innocence, niceness, kindness, and holiness. Jesus knew what He was talking about when He said, “Blessed are those who have the heart of a child.” If God would allow me to be a child every day, all my life, I would, in this way I would never have gray hair on my head. Please know that each one of us is a child of God and He is always there for us, listening to us and helping us. His blessings are waiting to be given to us all. A special thanks to their teachers and helpers who helped our children learn the Catholic Faith, especially how to love Jesus. Thank you also to their parents for helping them and forming them in the ways of faith. As a church family, we are blessed to have each other, the old and the young, the born and the unborn. God bless us all and I love you too, Fr. Hien GOD BLESS OUR PARENTS!
Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all our moms. God bless our mothers and our families with His heavenly joy, peace, and happiness. Of course, may God bless us with good health and good relationships with each other. Please thank God each day for your parents and your family members. They are very important to each one of us, as we are all very important to them. Don’t let the devil tell you something different. It wants to destroy your lives and your families. It wants to keep you from being loved and loving one another. Don’t fall into this trap and eternal hell. Always trust in God like Mother Mary, always put on love like Jesus showed us, and everyday do hard work for our families like St. Joseph, the greatest model for all men, especially dads. May the Holy Family pray for us and our families until we are in heaven with them. Thank You: Thank you to all those who supported our annual food sale last weekend with your time, talent, and treasure. Thanks to Brother Knights, Altar Society ladies, and the many Vietnamese parishioners and friends of the parish. Yes, we did it and the food was super delicious, and many people had a great time. Thank you to so many good-hearted cookers preparing and cooking for us. We made $43,681.91 from the food sales, and all of it will go to our “Building Fund Account.” First Confession and Holy Communion: Students and parents are to attend the rehearsal this Saturday, May 7th at 9am, getting ready for the 4pm, First Holy Communion Mass. After Mass, I will take individual pictures with every child. I can’t wait to celebrate this special day with our children and your families. I love you all, Fr. Hien |
