My Dear Parishioners,
How are you doing? Please know that we are blessed to be alive and to be healthy. Let us pray for all those who are sick, especially those with deadly diseases and viruses. No one likes to be sick or be treated as a sick person. Let us love all people, including the sick, the infirm, and the unborn. This week, every registered family will receive their up-to-date financial statement from January 1st to August 15th, 2021, in the mail. Thank you for your contribution to our church and school. Those who give faithfully, yes, you are the bread provider to our church and school with your time, talent, and treasure. Yes, our students are in debt to you for you and providing them with their Catholic education. None of them can pay for the costs of their education and formation. Please know that we all have the responsibility to care for and to take care of what we have, especially providing the Catholic education to our children and grandchildren. God calls all of us to be loving community so that we may do good to one another. God bless us all. In your letter, you will also receive the church and school's financial reports along with details on the buildings' rental fees. Please read them and share with your family members so that they too may know that it does cost to have our church, school, and many facilities. Again, only registered parishioners get the special rates--the discounted rate without providing insurance for their event, unless it's for a business event. They also get to use the facilities first, then non-registered Catholics and non-profit organizations second, then lastly the businesses. To be a good parishioner/Catholic, a person must register at a parish and contribute of their time, talent, and treasure. God Bless you all and I love you all, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Blessings from our Lord and our Mother Mary be with you all. Last weekend, we celebrated the Assumption of our Mother Mary to heaven. We also celebrated with a procession and a Holy Mass in Vietnamese with over a thousand people. You are invited to take home with you a small 4 x 6 holy card of our Lady of La Vang to have her at your home. They are available in the foyer by the bulletins. Take what you need and share some with your loved ones for we all can use a hand from Mother Mary. The prayer is in Vietnamese. I have not found the translation of the prayer in English yet. A special thanks to all those who came and to all those who helped us celebrate this special event with their time, talent and treasure. Everyone was well fed with great food., We handed out about 1,300 to-go boxes. Bishop also mentioned that he called and thanked his mom for his life on his birthday. May we all thank our parents for their love and support to all of us. Please join me in welcoming the new students and staff to our Catholic school. Yes, school has already started, and they are attending daily Mass too. We are blessed with many new students this year. Let us pray for a safe and successful academic school year for our students and teachers, volunteers, and parish staff too, etc.... Catholic education will transform everyone into the person of Jesus Christ, to have faith in God and to love one another. God bless you all and I love you all, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners of All Saints,
Blessings from Our Lord and Mother Mary be with you all. August is here and we are ready to start a new school year for our children, As you know, children are innocent and precious. They love to learn and to feel good about themselves, especially their accomplishments. Every one of us has the responsibility to help them be the best person they can be and to learn the Catholic faith and live it daily. Let us love them by giving them the gift of God and the best education we can to form them intellectually and spiritually. So, parents, please register your child/children to attend our Catholic school if you haven't done so yet. Enrollment is going on now in the school office. Every parent has two options to enroll their child/children for Catholic education . Option one is to pay tuition of $4,900 per child to All Saints, $6,850 per student for Kapaun High School. Option two is to register as members of All Saints with your time, talent and treasure. You are required to tithe on your family income to our parish. You must help All Saints pay the bills to educate your child/children, including the bills from Kapaun High School for the students from All Saints. It would be wrong to take advantage of God's church and His people. I can't wait to be with your child/children again and to see you all at Holy Mass. Next Sunday, August 15th, is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Everyone is invited to join our Bishop Kemme, many priests and the Vietnamese Catholics for a special outdoor procession of the statue of our Lady of La Vang, the Blessed Virgin Mary, around our church. If you have never been to a procession like this before, you will be very happy that you came. You will see the love and devotion many people have for Mother Mary. More likely there will be standing room only because we are expecting about thousand people at the procession and the Holy Mass. Of course, lunch will be served to everyone in the halls and in the tents outside. In the foyer, you can enjoy the shrine of our Lady of La Vang. We made it from the wood around our church. It's a stunning image of Our Lady standing on a nicely carved and decorated tree. Why the tree? It's because that was where Mary appeared in 1798 to the Vietnamese. The tree is shaped like the letter S to look like the shape of Vietnam. All Costs for this special event are being provided by generous donors. Many people are very generous to us because they love Mother Mary and their Catholic faith so much. Thanks to all and I hope everyone can join us, Catholics or not, all can come to Jesus and join us in honoring His Mother, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners of All Saints,
Blessings from our Lord Jesus be with you all. The month of August is here, may each one of us enjoy each day of our lives with our loved ones, especially in these last weeks before the new school year. Let us love one another and always long to be one with Jesus through our prayers and worship at Holy Mass. Only at Holy Communion during the Holy Mass can we become one with Jesus in His holy body, soul, and divinity. He says, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.” Don’t forget that our souls always thirst for Jesus alone. Yes, only Jesus can feed us with the true bread from heaven. When we truly love Jesus, He will raise us to eternal life in heaven. Please join me with our love, prayers, and sympathy for the family of Binh Tran. Binh was a faithful parishioner who attended our Sunday Masses faithfully with his family. He went to bed Sunday night and died in his sleep. We celebrated his funeral Mass at All Saints on Friday, July 23rd. I was very sad at his funeral Mass. I knew Binh well because he helped our church and school with his electrical skills. At his funeral, his boss and his wife from McPherson also came. Of course, I recognized them right away because they were my faithful and generous parishioners at St. Joseph’s, McPherson. They also fed me many times at their homes, and I hunted on their private land. They told me that Binh was working on St. Joseph’s Church last before he passed away. Binh was truly a good man. All Saints Catholic church and school needs more parishioners with their skills to help take care of what we have. So, if you are gifted in electrical, plumbing, heating and air, handyman work, or even mowing, etc.… and want to volunteer for our church, please let us know. Do you have an extra microwave/large fan that you don’t need? We can use them here, just bring them to the church office. Thanks, Fr. Hien PS. Parents, please register your child/children to attend our Catholic school if you haven’t done so. |
