A PRAYER FOR PRIESTS BY ST. THERESE OF LISIEUX
O Jesus, eternal Priest, keep your priests within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart, where none may touch them. Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Your Sacred Body. Keep unsullied their lips, daily purpled with your Precious Blood. Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood. Let Your holy love surround them and shield them from the world’s contagion. Bless their labors with abundant fruit and may the souls to whom they minister be their joy and consolation here and in heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown. Amen LENT: Prayer, Fasting And Almsgiving. No meat Fridays during Lent. My Dear Parishioners,
Happy New Year to our Vietnamese parishioners. May we all live to love God by seeing God in each other and to give thanks to God for all His blessings upon us, our families and everyone throughout the world. May we all live in peace with each other and to help each other to become saints. This coming Wednesday, February 14th, is Ash Wednesday. On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, you can only eat one full meal and two lesser meals. Of course, no meat on these days as well as every Friday during Lent—Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving. Ash Wednesday Masses are 8am with the school children, 5:15pm English and 6:30pm in Vietnamese. May we all have a spiritual Lent, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
Blessings from our Lord be with you all. Next weekend, especially on Saturday, February 10th will be the new zodiac year, the Year of the Dragon for our Vietnamese parishioners. Please join us for Holy Mass on Saturday, February 10th at 10:30am, followed by the dragon dance, free lucky money in a red envelope and a special reception in the hall with music. Also, we have been selling Vietnamese food along with New Year decorations from 10am to 7pm every day at the Fischer Center. All the proceeds will benefit the school HVAC system. Thank you for your support and donations. Please know that we are all blessed to be living in America, a country with many states, cities, and communities that have many nationalities, cultures and people who can speak many languages. I am sure only God knows exactly how many people are living in America and how many languages are being used and how many cultures there are in America. Asian people such as the Vietnamese in our parish, they speak their Vietnamese language and celebrate their culture that is also very important to our Catholic faith. The word “Catholic” means universal, that’s for every person, every culture, and every language on the face of the earth. Just like all people are precious and sacred to God, all cultures and languages on the face of the earth are part of the Catholic Church, the One Holy Catholic Church Family. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of our age, race, culture, language, etc… Love you all, Fr.
