My Dear Parishioners,
Blessings from our Lord be with you all. Let us thank God for the cooler weather with lots of moisture this week. I am sure the vegetables in my garden are very happy too. Thank God for the favorable weather and all that He has bestowed upon us, our families and our church’s family too! Thank you, Jesus. Are you ready for August? Normally, August is a busy month for everyone to get ready for a new school year. However, this August of 2020 is a headache for everyone, especially the school system due to the pandemic. As of now, the new school year will start a few weeks late. Please understand that starting school late is better than never. Therefore, let us pray that the virus will slow down, and less people will get sick from it beginning today. This means that everyone needs to be smart by practicing social distancing and washing their hands often. Only we can slow down the spread of the virus by being smart. Do you know that I have not been to a box store since May? It is because I want to be safe for myself (I hate being sick), for my family, especially my elderly parents, and of course for you as my parishioners—old and young. So, please join me in being patient during this pandemic time and pray the Holy Rosary like Bishop Kemme suggested throughout August for the end of the pandemic, locally and worldwide. Bishop and I believe that with the help of Mother Mary, God will free us from this crisis. Please join me in praying a Hail Mary at every Mass throughout this month for this special intention. Holy Mary, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
First, please join me in extending our love and prayers for the salvation of Dolores "Dee" Fisher and Carmen Alvarado. Dee was 84 years old. She passed away on June 28. A rosary and funeral mass were held in our church on Saturday, July 18. Carmen was 97 years old. She passed away on May 29. Her funeral was on Monday, July 20, in our church. May our risen Lord Jesus bless them with eternal life and be with their families during this difficult time of sadness. “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. “ Second, recently I shared with you that we put a new roof on our Fischer Center Hall. After a few rains, it is holding up with no leaks. Early Monday morning before my 10am funeral, I went to the roof of the church’s office building and was surprised by what I saw. About a dozen large holes that were 2-4 inches in diameter were on the roof. The chimney was falling apart too. The roof is so old that the rubber is decaying. Please know that we are putting on a new roof and fixing the chimney now. I am so thankful that water had not done major damage to our building. Since I have been here, I have always wanted to go up there to check the roof out. It was because I saw a stain by the skylight area above the stairways when I first came to visit the office, before I moved in. I asked and no one knew whether it was fixed or not. I am glad that we are taking better care of our buildings and facilities now. Please be faithful to our church and school so that we can take care of what we have. We rely solely on your faith in God, and your commitment to our church and school with your honest stewardship of your time, talents, and treasures. Thank you for being members of our church’s family, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
How was your 4th celebration? Mine was great and fun. On the 4th, I spent my afternoon with my family. I enjoyed watching the fireworks except for the extremely loud boom from the big fireworks. The best part of my 4th celebration was in church with many people praying for our country. May God continue His blessings upon all of us living in America. May we always trust in God, especially during this pandemic time. Again, please observe the social distancing rule, including in church, 6 feet away from non-family members. Wear a mask if you are conversing within 6 feet. Let us all be safe. Use hand sanitizer or wash your hands as often as possible. Do not go out unless you must, especially in public places. That is what I have been doing for months now; I cannot afford to get sick nor get you sick either. Please keep me safe as I am trying to keep everyone safe too. It takes everyone to do his/her part. Sunday, July 12 is my 48th birthday. Please help me to thank God for the gift of my life. God did not have to create me, but He did out of love for me; therefore, I am forever grateful to God and to my parents. I love my parents. I ask God for His heavenly blessings upon them and my five siblings with my 12 nieces and nephews. May God bless your family too. Our Fischer Center roof is completed. It looks really nice and I am confident that we will not have any leaks. Every day I watched them work on it and I am very pleased with their work. If you would like to help pay for the roof, it costs $12,600 (discounted price), please let us know. Please remember that as a church family, everyone is responsible for everything we have. Let us do our fair share before God and one another. The roof had to be done because it was so old. Thank you for helping us pay our bills. Have a blessed day every day, Fr. Hien HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!
MAY OUR LORD BLESS YOU. MAY OUR BLESSED MOTHER PROTECT YOU. MAY ALL THE ANGELS AND SAINTS SUPPORT YOU. MAY YOU LOVE OUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, MIND AND SOUL. MAY YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER: THE OLD AND THE YOUNG, THE BORN AND THE UNBORN, THE HEALTHY AND THE SICK, THE WHITE AND THE BLACK, THE BROWN AND THE YELLOW, ETC…FOR WE ARE ONE FAMILY IN AMERICA UNDER GOD. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL WHO LIVE IN IT. IN GOD WE TRUST. HAPPY 4TH! I LOVE YOU ALL-FR.HIEN |
