My Dear Parishioners,
Next Sunday, January 22nd, is the Vietnamese Lunar new year, the year of the cat. Everyone is invited to our New Year Mass in Vietnamese at 10:30am, followed by a dragon dance, handing out lucky money to everyone in a red envelope, a reception with games and karaoke in the parish hall. Everyone is invited to join us and be happy with us. Please know that the expenses for this event and all the Vietnamese related events at All Saints are sponsored by generous donors and from the Vietnamese Mass stipends donation. We are blessed to have each other and to live in the United States of America. Love you all, Fr. Hien Happy New Year Everyone,
2023 is here with God’s love and promise of eternal life to all those who have kept their baptismal promises. That is to reject sin and to live for God alone by loving Him and serving Him. I pray that every day, my parishioners will see God in one another and always pray for each other as well as help each other make it to eternal life, to love God today and to serve Him with our lives of time, talent, and treasure. As Catholics, we are the light of the world, we are to shine before others with our faith in God and our good deeds for each other. When we do so, we will help the world to know God, to also love God and to serve Him. Love you all, Fr. Hien Happy New Year Everyone,
God is with us in Jesus our Lord! Merry Christmas everyone! May this new year, 2023, bring you God’s peace and love to you and your loved ones, so that you will share God’s love within you to each other and to help one another to eternal life. Jesus came from heaven to reveal heaven, our true home to us. In heaven, we will be one perfect family of God. Please make a commitment to live your Catholic faith daily with your devotions and prayers, especially on Sunday, the Lord’s Day of Obligation. As Catholics, not living out our faith and worshiping God is not an option for those who want to please God and for the sake of his/her and their loved ones’ salvation. I am blessed to be a Catholic and live my Catholic faith everyday here at All Saints with you. I hope that more of you and your loved ones will join me in prayer and worship to God in this coming year. Of all things in life, what is most important is our love for God and our love for each other. Only when we are one with God, especially through the Eucharist, the Holy Mass, is when we are fully loving God and each other and ourselves. I am very blessed to witness so many faithful Catholics attending Sunday Masses and receiving the sacrament regularly. You are awesome and you are the joy of my life through your Catholic faith, Fr. Hien. Merry Christmas Everyone,
Glory to God in the highest and peace to His people on earth. Holy, Holy, Holy Lord! God is with us in Jesus, who is our life and love. Let all people live to love Him and to serve Him in one another. Merry Christmas with God’s heavenly blessings be with you all. Please join all the angels and saints with our Blessed Mother and all good-hearted people throughout the world to sing praise and be happy for on this day, a Savior was born to us, and He is our Lord, God, and King. Let all the earth know of God’s love for every person on earth, born and to be born, living and deceased. If you are around, please bring your families and friends for our Holy Christmas Masses: Saturday, December 24th at 4pm (English), 5:30pm (Vietnamese) and Sunday, Christmas day at 9am (bi-lingual). This year, we are blessed to have a group of students who have been practicing their special dance to perform at 4pm Mass. They are like angels to tell the story of the Incarnation. They will help us love and praise God with “Glory to God in the Highest, and peace to His people on earth.” Merry Christmas to you all with countless blessings from our Lord Jesus, Fr. Hien. My Dear Parishioners,
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel—God bless my parishioners and your loved ones. Christmas is near; may God’s heavenly blessings be with you all. Please know that not only do I love you, but also our Lord Jesus, His Blessed Mother and all the angels and saints love you out of this world. Yes, this world is too small for God’s love for you and me and all of God’s children on earth. For this reason, He created us so that we may have life on earth as it will be in heaven, to enjoy His perfect love for all of us. Only those who are in heaven, angels and saints, can fully live and understand and know the eternal and perfect love of God. Too many people today are so caught up with worldly things that they fail to live in union with God. Please bring your families and friends for our Holy Christmas Masses: Saturday, December 24th at 4pm (English), 5:30pm (Vietnamese) and Sunday, Christmas day at 9am (bi-lingual). Hien. Happy 2nd Sunday of Advent. We are in the Advent season, that’s to prepare our hearts, minds, and souls to celebrate the birthday of Jesus at Christmas. For this reason, many people are displaying their Christmas lights and ornaments. That’s because they love Jesus and are waiting to celebrate this coming Christmas. Please know that Jesus is with us, and He loves to hear us talking with Him through our prayers for our salvation and the salvation of the whole world. Every day, please give some quality time to have a conversation with Jesus wherever you may be: at home, at work, at school, in church and especially in the chapel. Finally, this coming Thursday, December 8th is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary with holy Masses at 12 noon (with school children) and 5pm in English, 6:30pm in Vietnamese. Every Catholic is obligated to attend, so please make every effort to attend Mass either in our church or in another Catholic church. Thank you, Fr Hien PARISH PENANCE SERVICE/ GIẢI TỘI: Sunday, December 18 at 4pm in church with guest priests--Curtis Hecker, Garett Burns, Michael Kerschen, Hung Pham. My Dear Parishioners of All Saints,
Advent is near and Christmas is coming. First, I would like to thank God for each one of you and your loved ones. Please know that I love you all and I always thank God for you, my parishioners, especially at Holy Masses, to remember you and to pray for you and all those from our parish who have gone to eternal life. I am blessed to be here with you, and I hope that it's the same to you. We will always need each other for us to have eternal life. Second, it’s time again for you to complete the stewardship forms. Please do your best to support our church and school, especially with your finances. Please know that the parish tithes 17.5 percent of your tithe to the diocese for other necessary ministries in the diocese and in the world. If you tithe faithfully, you are fulfilling your obligation before God. Please tithe based on your whole family income, 10 percent is suggested. Please use direct deposit (only once a month) if you have not done so to the parish saves from buying envelopes and shipping and handling. Today, the parish can really need your extra financial help because of the three major projects that must be done for our school. We are replacing the old underground steam line, and the cooling water line of the school. The steam line alone costs $33,500 and the cooling water line is yet to know because we don't know the exact amount of work to be done underground. Both lines are broken, and they must be replaced if we want heat or ac in the school buildings. Thankfully our church building no longer requires these old systems for cooling and heating. Another project that needs to be done is part of the school's roof. They are over 30 years old, and we have been patching them to buy time. As you all know, our school building is big and to fix the area that is most in need of attendance is about $30,000 for the materials. Today, on the behalf our church’s family, including our students, I’m asking each family to tithe based on your whole family income whether it comes from your pay checks or from other benefits such as retirement, etc.… and to give an extra $1,000-$3,000 to the school so that we can pay for the projects that must be done. If the suggested amount is not feasible, please give what you can, every dollar helps, our school children and I will be so grateful to your family. If you can do more, it would be so nice for sadly, there will always be people asking from the church and will never give/support the church. Yes, we have done so many church’s services, including funerals for many people who claimed to be members of the parish but they either moved away or did not give financially. What really saddened us was that even their memorials were not given to our church or school. We are not here to point fingers or to change anyone but to help each other to live out our Catholic faith. Please be good Catholics with your time, talents, and invest your treasures with God in our parish and you will be so happy that you did when you do your accounting with Him. God has given us everything just to see whether we’ll be His good and faithful stewards or not. Finally, happy Advent and Merry Christmas to you all and please know that I always look forward to being with you to worship with you and to be loved by you. May we live today sharing God’s love with one another through our joy, happiness, peace and with our stewardship way of life at All Saints. Love you all, Fr. Hien PS. Please return the attached envelope with your donation and pledge form. Thank you! My Dear Parishioners,
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones. We all have been blessed by God to live in America with so many blessings, including the freedom to love and worship God. On Thanksgiving Day, please bring your family to church and give your thanks and praises to God. Throughout the day and the weekend, there will be many opportunities for everyone to be with their families and friends to celebrate with great food, friendship, and love. Please be super careful when you are traveling. Don’t be in a hurry or careless when you drive. A small mistake can cost your life, or the lives of your loved ones or so many other innocent people. You can't be too careful when driving and traveling. Please do me a favor by seeing Jesus in each other, so that you may love them the way they are and help them when they are not Christ-like to you or others. As you can see, we are blessed to have our children serving at Holy Masses again. Please help me in thanking and appreciating them for their ministry. Parents, please be sure to read the bulletin for your children's schedule. You are responsible to bring them to church to serve or to ask among their friends for replacement. Always try to treat your kids or grandkids when they do something beautiful like serving at Holy Mass. Happy Thanksgiving, Fr. Hien My Dear Parishioners,
November 11th is Veterans’ Day; we will be honoring our military veterans for their service to our country. We are blessed with so many good-hearted men and women of our country who have served and given their lives for our freedom and peace today and the years to come. We are grateful to them and their sacrifices and the many sacrifices their families have given. They were good to us, let us be good to them with our love and prayers for them at Holy Masses. May each one of them, especially those who are disabled of any kind, live to know that their sacrifices were appreciated. May they live in peace and in love with everyone, especially among their families and friends. In November, we pray for the salvation of all souls, especially at Holy Mass. Please make every effort to attend Holy Mass and to pray for your deceased loved ones and friends. Trust in God and He will set us free from sins and eternal death, Fr. Hien HOMEBOUND: Holy Communion can be brought from All Saints to a devoted Catholic who is homebound or in a nursing home. Please contact the church office if you need this special ministry. Due to Covid and the many deadly viruses around, and for the safety of the homebound persons and the Eucharistic ministers, Holy Communion is not brought to anyone who is sick. All homebound ministers are required to wear masks and to use hand sanitizer before and after each visit. Carelessness can kill many. Let us help each other to live a long life with family and friends. BISHOP CARL KEMME TO CELEBRATE ANNUAL VIETNAMESE MARTYRS MEMORIAL.
